Nardean x Budweiser NFT Shoot
I’ve worked with Nardean before in 2021 when I was Best Boy on the music video for her track “The Come Down” Directed by Matt Wilson and lit by Gaffer Daniel Gooden.
Cut forward through a swamp of lockdowns, self isolations and no work in the music industry, I messaged Nardean to see what projects she was working on. She has a drive bigger & stronger than mine so I knew she’d be squirrelled away in her studio song writing and collaborating with other singers and writers. Of course she had been writing throughout the whole year so I asked to come sit in with her and guests whenever was good for her. I was trying to claw my way out of a massive creative rut and this was going to be the perfect way to do it!
After 2 studio sessions I was happy with what I got and so was Nardean because she asked me collaborate with her on a concept to do with an upcoming spotlight for musicians from around the world. Headed by Budweiser and Vayner Media, 22 musicians from around the world were selected to create an NFT and I had the pleasure to help bring her idea to fruition.
Nardean wanted to create a series of photos that would ideally say she is Australian but wanted to stress that she has strong Egyptian roots.
Here are the finished images all shot on Portra 160 using my big ‘ol Pentax 67 and assisted by Carina Burke.
